Hi there, and welcome to The Take it Easy Crew - my musings on the cannabis industry, California, and building Halara.

If you missed past emails, I recommend checking out the Take it Easy Crew page where you can see the past emails I sent.

San Diego, Food, and Hall of Flowers!

Hey crew,

Not sure how many of y’all are in San Diego, but two weekends ago Nick flew down for the Farmers Cup. It was a blast. Our newest Resin drop, Cadillac Lemonade, took home People’s Choice for Best Appearance. It’s a Cadillac Rainbows × Lemonade cross we collabbed on with Coastal Sun.

We hung with loyal fans down south and a few judges to chat about the entries and what’s cooking next. It wouldn’t be a proper cannabis event if I didn’t get a few good sessions in with other brands. Shoutout to Errl Hill for making the drive with his crew.

It wasn’t all work. Nick’s a foodie like me, so he hit the food truck WeCookn (wecookn.com) and crushed the Shrimp Po’ Boy. He also swung by Pacific Beach Fish Shop, one of my San Diego go-tos. The Red Snapper tacos with Cajun seasoning are fire. I’m actively debating turning this newsletter into a restaurant review series, someone please write in and tell me no.

Next week is Hall of Flowers, Santa Rosa.

As y’all probably know, we could practically toss a rock from our extraction lab to the venue, so it’s home turf. We’re teaming up with our distributor UpNorth, plus Fig Farms, Sense, and others in Hall A.

Come see us at Booth 148.

Nick and I will be there, dabbing folks up with the newest rosin and resin strains.

If you work at one of our partner shops, we need your autographs. The whole back wall will have our partner store logos and a ton of blank space, so help us fill it.

Also, there may or may not be limited edition trading cards created by Nick for each of his resin strains for the first 200 people. I can neither confirm nor deny this rumor.

See you next week!

The Review Corner

It’s reviews like that keep me coming back for more. I try to warn people that I meet in the shops that Halara carts are smooth. If you like blinkers causing you to cough - this is probably not the cough for you.

I crack up when I see people not take my advice and treat this cart like another brand. This is potent.

The feedback I get from a demo day I did recently:

The offending cartridge in quesiton: Watermelon Z OG, of course.

Think you’ve got a better review? Reply with your submission on the Reddit feed r/halaracannabis! Nick will critique 📨

Strain of the week: Honeydew Glue

Saying goodbye to Honeydew Glue isn’t easy, but the backstory is pure feel-good. It launched as Mutt Melon, our animal rescue collab. Today that lives on as Mochi Paws every Q3, and each cartridge feeds a cat and a dog.

Its name comes straight from the lineage: Cannalope Haze, Watermelon Z, Honeydew Funk. Y’all went nuts for the flavor, so we pulled it into the full lineup six months later.

But now we are debuting Cannalope Chronic in it’s place.

So get it while you can!

Also if you really liked it - write back! IF enough folks want it back of yall do we might bring it back for a limited time next year.

Asks:

None this week!

Dope Things I’m reading

My Weekly Bops 🎵

I’ve been line dancing on Thursday nights and this first song is still stuck in my head. I won’t subject you to my moves, but here’s the dance if you want to try:
